#29: "Burl"-esque

The sun peeked out briefly, but then decided to hide herself again.

If the walls have eyes, than the trees have butts.
would this qualify as 'nature porn'??
Yesterday I went with a friend and poked about the park again. We walked and talked, he took a few photos, and even I found a few things I hadn't noticed before. Today he headed back to "home base" again, leaving me to muse about my own oncoming trip in that vague direction. The house is a lot quieter since this morning when he loaded up the ol' van and left. Would that I could have gone with him. But not yet....

The year is rapidly drawing to a close here, and the usual thoughts are winging around, that I have wasted another year, that I have done little of what I said I was going to do. The looming clouds and chilly weather no doubt have something to do with this. It will pass like it has in previous years. I hope.

.....Maybe I should start some seeds, a smidge early. Just to have something new and green growing. The houseplants have more or less adapted to the change in light from bringing them in at the end of the summer. But my jade plant isn't doing so well, even after repotting in newer, dryer soil (I thought it was too damp, but maybe it was too late for it anyhow?) . Debating dumping that one and just starting over with something else. The mini cactus, at least, is doing well.

There were signs at the park, that while life itself was slowing down, some middling of it remains under the surface. I will have to remind myself of that in the coming weeks--to keep the gloomies at bay and to keep the twitchies away. Or at least try to. Always a challenge in the winter. I suspect I will spend a lot of it like I have in previous years, in a semi-hibernating state except when I actually have to go out and interact with people.

Aye,
Kraneia
