#177: Positive vibes here and there.

Roughlock Falls
My first day back dawned, just like it always does, with a song and a snowflake. I was the first to show up at the office; when will I learn I don't need to be there exactly at 7 am? My coworkers arrive in ones and twos; we play catch-up and I have that first meeting with the boss man. "You know what to do by now," he tells me. And I do; it's check the trails, and make a note on things that might need fixing. Take cleaning stuff out to the shed. Grab a case of toilet paper. Of course it's snowing by now. Good thing the work truck has four wheel drive!

By the end of the day I've determined everything has held up pretty well over the winter. Roughlock trail, which they hadn't finished before winter, was still good enough to take a stroll. Oddly, I did not find any trash on the trails. This made me very happy at first; but it was tempered by the realization that any garbage left behind over the winter was probably hiding under the snow. I consoled myself with the thoughts that the snow will be out of here before we know it; plus, the volunteers will be setting up next week.

I am temporarily working weekends, til my other helper gets out of school. This was expected, although I already miss my Saturdays. No matter; as I like to tell my coworkers, "Saturday only means something if you have a life!" Which, really, I don't.

At the moment, my pepper sproutling army is eagerly awaiting their march to the metal cattle-tank outside. If only it would quit snowing.... Then the conquest of salsa can begin! Muhahahaha.

Ahem.

My roommate, as of this post, is happily wandering around Budapest for a few days. My child thought it a little strange, but we all have our hobbies. He travels and another friend "collects" motorcycles and I do books and plants. All you need to do is figure out what you want to do in your spare time....

Little Spearfish Falls

At any rate, I'm halfway through my work "week" and figured I'd fill you in. And share a few photos of the place so far.  There is so much to see out here, hopefully you tourists won't ruin it.

😉

Finally, a message to you. Yes, YOU. 🫵
It sounds like you're having what can only be described as a mental breakdown. I get it. Life is too much. So take a mental health day. Go get some help if you need it. I'm not saying this to be snide; I am honestly worried about you. We may not see eye to eye any more, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you still. 🤗 I want you to know that you are not alone in this world.

You are enough.

Aye,
Kraneia

And as always,
