#38: Table Rock Rock!

Monday's Trek to Table Rock was interesting. The park itself isn't supposed to be open for another week or two, and we had to snag a key from the park service to get in the gates. This happens every year, and every time it apparently doesn't set well with hikers, who apparently can't figure out why WE get to park up there when THEY have to park outside the gate. Well, volunteer and YOU can park up there too. Problem solved :)

I have to admit, once we got up there, the view was pretty cool, even if it was cloudy most of the day. There was a coolness in the air that nonetheless hinted at the spring that was on its way. There was some rain in the area, but it held off till we were on our way home.

This past week has been crazy, weather-wise. It's been almost up there in Spring-terms. But not quite. it's been almost-warm, and very wet, and we've even had a couple thunderstorms. It's this kind of weather that makes me the most restless--it's like it's almost there, almost there, almost there.... but not enough to turn off the heat at night, and certainly not enough to plant anything outdoors. But it's coming...soon...

Linville Gorge.

35 days and counting til I take my "great trek" westward. Almost time to clean out that suitcase....

Stay tuned!
Aye,
Kraneia
