#31: 2019

So far, so good. I managed to survive my short trip west, got to see the youngin' and a friend, and made it back safely and in time to take down all the Christmas stuff and stow it away for next year.

Megs is a grownup now, and started college last fall. She is also driving and has a job, and all those adult kind of things I never thought I would live to see. I am proud of the person she has become.

Sunday I went back to the park for some me time. I took the path never traveled,  and met quite a few people on horses who had the same thought I did--the rain had stopped and it was decent weather, time to go out and smell the air.

There isn't much going on out there in January, all the trees had long ago shed their leaves and everything was the usual shade of brown or gray. But there were evergreen things reminding me that some things will always be there.

Coming around a curve, I found a little trickle on its way to the river. I sat on a rock and had a snack and watched it for a few minutes. Then it was time to head back to the car.....

Monday I went with the gang to the section 4 part of the MST, referred to as "woodlawn". I got handed the usual pair of clippers and went with a couple other folks out a bit to do some trimming.

We had been there earlier, over the summer, and last time I spotted a tree that seemingly had a frowning face on it. I nicknamed him "Woodsey the Tree Troll" and attempted to get a photo.

............I found him again. He was still there, and still frowning.....

I guess he didn't like us trimming his rhodies back from the trail.
Next stop is my birthday. I turn all of 44 Tuesday. Yay me. I will probably spend it like I do any other day, doing my own thing. I don't celebrate birthdays much any more. I make my own cake. Dent is making noise about going out to eat, but I would be just as happy staying home.

I managed to sift a few more things out that can go elsewhere. I found some books I hadn't read in over a year, so it was time to put them aside. I hope to have most of what I am keeping thinned down to one or two plastic tubs. That's the plan, anyway. We will see how that goes. You never know how much crap you have till you go to move it!

Gearing up for my "great adventure" in the spring. I will be travelling further than I ever have, away from home, just to see if the new boss is same as the old boss. Just a visit, this go round. To see if there is a long term solution involved down the road....

Stay tuned!
Aye,
Kraneia
