is it waving or wiping its brow? I should put eyes on it. |
Today dawned clear and cool, with a promise of low humidity. So off I went to the local park. I practically live there.
As I plodded along, I debated back and forth, now this, now that. Do I do this? Do I go there? So much to do, so many things to say, so many ends to tighten up. And maybe a few more to loosen.
So many photos to take.
The past couple of days have been a lot less oppressive. I do believe fall is on its way, and in my opinion it can't come soon enough.
There were a few folks out there today, several families with kids. I am guessing they were trying to get that last one in before the start of school again.
At any rate, I have been thinking. I know, it never ends well. You don't have to remind me. But sometimes thinking is necessary. Too many people get by without thinking it seems like.
This, apparently, is a Birdfoot Violet. |
I managed to find a few spots I hadn't explored before, and found a few feathers. And got some things from a different perspective. Which is a good thing to have in life.
I will have to start going back every week as the trees start changing over to their fall finery. We've had enough rain early on that the colors ought to be pretty good this year.
Providing no one sets fire to the park again, it ought to be quite a sight. :)
The glaring sunlight up on the ridge made for some interesting black and white shots. This fallen tree looks like he's reaching for the sky.
The white blob in the upper left corner is a tent caterpillar web. There were quite a few of those. They seem to like the sourwood trees a lot.
By this point, I felt it was time to be trotting myself back towards the car and civilization. I had lost myself in the wilds for a while. And my feet were beginning to hurt.
So down the trail I went.
On the way down, I met several creepy crawlies. Some of whom were on the trail. I met this one halfway to the parking lot.
He looks like he's wearing striped pajamas.
After a few moments of trying to get a good photo of him, I moved him off the trail and told him to have a good day.
Aye,
Kraneia
