It has been a wild and wacky weather kinda week. We woke up Sunday to this:
We got close to a foot of snow. Everything froze again. Fortunately the city and DOT were ready for it and within a couple hours the roads were passable, if not great. I had to help the munchkin uncover their car so that they could get in to work.
That was Sunday; this morning it looked like this.
The high today was 71.... needless to say the snow hasn't really stuck around.
On Monday, I went to pick up my drum. After waiting four months for the head to come in, I finally got the message that it was all done!
Now all I gotta do is figure out how to clean the aluminum shell. Someone suggested aluminum tire rim cleaner, so I will try a little bit on the edge and see what it looks like. Hopefully it will look good as new.
I did notice where there was a deep scratch on the side, almost cut through the metal. I figure whoever messed up the old head did that, too. So she's got some scars on her. Still sounds good!
Tuesday was Saint Patrick's day. I dug out the once-a-year greenery and the munchkin and I had some st paddy's day beer.
