#164: Well, that's odd.

 I'm used to pulling up Blogger and seeing pretty low numbers. Like, there's a limited number of you who come back every time I post. Like 14-20 at most per entry... I've been okay with that, honestly.

............Now the numbers are close to 300 per entry.......... Unsure when this happened, but if you're new, welcome, and if you're just returning because you're gluttons for punishment, thanks. 😊

At the moment, I'm sitting on my bed, listening to the wind whistling outside. It's hard to believe it's mid-October already.  There's been a little bit of snow already; however the ground isn't quite cold enough for it to stick, and the snow showers are pretty smattered in between the rain. 

As of this post, I'm still up at the park. I have made it clear that I can stay as long as they need me to; heck, I can hang out til mid December, when they lock the bathrooms if need be. The work truck has 4 wheel drive, it isn't like I can't get back there if it does snow. 

Christmas isn't too far down the road. I'm looking foreword to wrestling the tree out of storage and lighting up the space. I even found a few new ornaments while thrifting--they're rainbow colored. 

The little one (little in terms of my child; they're as tall as I am now!) is settling in nicely. They've made some friends their age, to my immense relief. I still have to ask them occasionally if they're happy.  I always have this bad idea in the back of my mind that they're regretting moving all this way. Still, they're happier away from their father, and that's a good start.

Thrifting has been... interesting. This past week, the evil doll and his friends were gone. I can only hope someone actually bought the creepy things, and it didn't escape one night. 

I keep finding books that look sorta interesting, but upon getting them home and reading them, I'm left with a "WTF" feeling. Did all sci fi/fantasy books read like a B-grade porn movie? I mean, if the sex is central to the plot, great. Seems like in the majority of these it's the obligatory good guy sleeps with every woman alien/princess he meets  (Captain Kirk, anyone?) and the story would be just as good without it. Just my opinion, and not trying to sound prudish. 

My drum is currently at a music repair shop.... people kept telling me "go to YouTube!" but the trouble they've had figuring out how to fix it just reaffirms my belief that no matter how "simple" a video is on the 'Tube, it's never as easy as what they make it appear to be. Considering I tend to screw up 99% of what I attempt, I'm happy to let the experts (?) handle it. 

Anyway, autumn and winter seem to be battling it out here, with some days still getting up in the mid 60s, and the next day it's 36 and snow. I have to say I am ready for winter's touch. It's time.
