#56: Tis the season

Part of Wind Cave.
The Christmas cards are all sent, what few people who are receiving gifts have been taken care of. Time seems to be slowing down, it always does this time of year. The "hurry up and wait" that I seem to experience every year is somewhat amplified this year. I don't know if it's because I'm in an area that experiences a proper winter, or what. I will have to come up with new things to keep myself occupied.

I'm sitting here on the couch blinking at the bright sun outside. The living room at the house I'm staying at has a giant picture-window that lets in a lot of light during the day. It's quite a view as the living room is in the upper floor of the house (It's built into a hill; the lower floor is the garage and the room I sleep in)

Work as of late has been interesting. It's seasonal, which means it's really slow this time of year. So to avoid people not having enough hours we have been working in different departments some days. Tomorrow I get to learn the fine points of janitorial work. Sure, whatever--give me a broom and I will go sweep the parking lot. Did that all the time at BK. Or clean the bathrooms. Since it's slow this time of year it ought not to be too terrible. It's all good.

Thought some of you out there in Badhairland could use some nifty gift ideas. Remember, you got less than a week to get those last minute goodies.

kinda defeats the purpose if ya ask me

Here's one for the hippie on your list who isn't satisfied with smelling like Patchouli. Soap. That smells like dirt. I found this at a health food store in Spearfish.

We had one of these!!

For the nostalgia lovers out there, who need something for the kids (well, grandkids, really....) These were originally put out by a toy company called Romper Room, in the early 80's I believe.

My sister and I used to argue over who got to ride "inchie".

Um... yum....

Not quite sure what to say about this one here. Maybe it's for that annoying vegan in your life. This was spotted at Wallyworld, right above the mushroom coffee (!).

You and me both, brutha

Also at Walmart: My shirt. Ignore the clearance tag.

Cold turkey?

Finally, we get a fair number of wildlife passing through. There's a whole herd of deer living in the woods behind the house, up the hill. And a small flock of turkeys who walk up the road pretty much every day. So for anyone looking for Christmas dinner, it's here in Lead...but you'll need to come catch it yourself. ;)

Hoping you and yours out in Badhairland have a safe and sane holiday season, and remember to laugh......  :)

Aye,
Kraneia
